I am arriving at the JFK 9 pm. 3 am my time with the idea to trick the jetlag I am visiting
my german friend at her apartement just after dropping of my luggage at the Gershwin Hotel.
One glas of red wine at the good old yaffa cafe + a hot soup are making me sleepy at 6 am.
It is snowing
nonstop!

Monday, 2nd March 2009

I am waking up at 7:30 and dying for a propper breakfast.
The snow is now 20 cm Minimum growing to a white wall infront of my window in the 13th floor.

A Vanilla flavored coffee and a carrot cake at the corner 28th St. and Park are fine for the moment.

In Soho I am getting a new cellphone number and calling my other german nyc friend.

He is taking me to the Dumpling House at Eldridge Street. I am having the hottest and spicy meal, I have ever eaten in my life.
With bags of three different art stores and one Trader Joe´s package I am taking the subway line 6, back to the Hotel.

Waking up, 7:30 am and having a selfmade delicious coffee with soy milk plus a piece of dark chocolate.
I am finding out now, where I will do my NYC Hares. Two nice polish janitors are taking care for light and heat
in my little studio at the Gershwin Hotel. At the hardware store on 29th Street I am getting a new staple gun and some more material.
Unfortunalely that gun is not shooting yet and I am starting with Hare and Deer on check fabric instead.
It is already afternoon and time for the Chianti now. At 6 pm I am dressing myself with Dirndl plus Huntinghat, taking the train
to Springstreet and walking down to 64 Grandstreet. At a Gallery Opening-Artist celebration-saying-oh I love it-free drinks-Party
I am meating my German friend Stefan. I am talking German to everyone and having much fun with that.
After lots of Wodka and many new contacts at Grand Hotel-After Show-more Show+more free drinks-Party
I am taking a Yellow cap back to the Hotel.

Already being in a rush, NY is effecting me. The first thing today, getting my staples gun repaired.
Being happy about that sucsess I am riding downtown to Canalstreet, where I am getting something to eat,
the wodka is still somewhere in my system, I need to change that. Then Pearl Paint, buying material.
I can´t wait to start painting, which I am doing NOW! See you then*

Today it is a friends-sunny-day.I am meeting an English + French and later the German friend, all of them saggitarius, like myself.
In New York every common thing makes you familiar and specially for Sagg.*. However, we are having lunch with friends
2,5 years old sun at Havanna Bar, where he is falling to sleep after the phantastic meal. I am sleepy too, that I am levaing the
company to have a rest. Rest, the whole afternoon and an early evening in bed. I am just done and being happy about the
new acquaintance I made today. I am going to skype a little with Germany now.

Friday, 6th March 2009

Being lucky about much sleep and deep dreams, I am standing up with a totally different face. There is enough time for a propper
breakfast with Irish oatmeal and strong coffee, before I am meeting Debra and Michelle at the NY Volta art fair at 2 pm.
A german gallerist is cropping up, we know eachother for years, wondering a little how things have changed and some not.
Another german gallerist is smiling, cause of my German representing outfit, I am wearing the dark green, light pink Dirndl
and the huntinghat. This Berlin Gallerist and his artist are visiting at Gershwin as well. Apparently it is a very German day.
Afer having lunch, skype with Germany of cause and a little work at the computer, I am leaving the Hotel to see an exhibition
at Pace and Wildenstein Gallery which is called Berlin 2000. With the German friend Stefan I am having beer, which is not German,
but Brooklish´. Still in my German traditionell outfit people are smiling at me. After a little while I am talking to 4 Germans and
changing contacts. German Artists, Gallerists, Kurators, ... I had to travel all the way to NYC to meet these people. With 2 caps
we are driving downtown, to see my Isreali friends exhibition party at Carlos SoHo Gallery on Broadway. My English friend+sun
and my German friend Steffi+Pablo are already there...very mixed and crazy party, but the drinls are out. I am going back to the
Berlin after show party, which is now at Hudson Street.... very german....many germans...and of cause german music. I like it!
Some more drinks, and "Absacker", last drink at a SoHo club + a short dance, home, skyping with boyfriend, done. 4 am.

Waking up at 11 am, being hungry. I am taking the train to Trader Joe´s at 14. Str..Is is like Aldi in Germany, good quality
and low rates. With happy full bags I am at Gershwin now, writing the nyc report, before I will meet my not german friend,
to see the Armory show at the Chelsea Piers at 4 pm. 30 bucks intrance, quite expensive for an art trade fair. We are walking through
contemp. art...macht ja nix... Here are now some impressions:

Around 8 pm I am at Deitch Project in SoHo, holding my camera into the crowd and leaving that gaudy place to see another exhibition on 25 Street.
O the roof of a Gallery in the 11th floor ("Nine young Hamburg art students and artists ..." Silvershed, 119 W) I am getting Radeberger Pilsener (german beer!).
A young german woman is leaping into view, she is wondering about my emersion here at her exhibition in NY? Ja... we know each other from
Büttners class and different exhibitions in our neighbourhood in Hamburg. Finally we are changing contacts. I am sitting and having much fun with an artist,
I met at the Berlin 2000 show and today at the armory. He told me to come to the Hamburg roof exhib.. Bernd Naber, he moved from Hamburg to NYC 34 years ago.
We are having 2 beers and a soup and of cause a nice view. Around 12 am I am walking home, just around the corner.
