I have to say, I couldn´t go to sleep, so I watched Ugly Betty on abc life stream which is being shot around the corner. I am still recovering and leaving the house
warmly packed in my winter coat. I am apparently tired of being cold. No matter what, there is no bad weather, there is only bad clothing.
I am enjoying the walk, the city, the blue sky, everything is different today, my mood just changed. Boyfriend is arriving at JFK this evening...!
I have still things to prepair for the exhibition this friday. I need large paper and a nice man in a copy+print store is giving me advice. On the way to the
18th St., btw. 5th and 6th Ave., I am having a walk to Gramercy Park, which is a fenced-in private park, never mind. Paper work done and back to 21st St.
to get a doughy Bagel at Ess a Bagel, 21st St. and 1st Ave. It´s interesting in there, you see how they actually make them. I am having one with tuna-salat
at the Stuyvesant Square because the weather is still too great to sit in. Having this tuna-bagel I am asking myself, if I would be happier living here in NYC,
or if it is just a matter of substance. A "Fischbrötchen" at the port of Hamburg in springtime with a blue sky above could be as effective to a New Yorker,
as a bagel to a Hamburger. I am taking it as my American friend used to say: "Fun is there where you have it.".
6th Ave, looking for paper Feuerwehr German Restaurant
With my boyfriend, who arrived yesterday night, I am having coffee at the hotel and walk over to the Empire State building.
We are deciding to not pay 20 $, to go up to the top with other 150 strangers. It is cold but sunny and with a coffe to go we are
enjoying the weater and the immens blue sky.
personal coffee for Manuel at ...BUCKS no Empire today
blue sky instead Further down to Chelsea and the Chelsea Rat
All the way down to the Meatpacking district we are taking a quick glance to the Hudson River and abscond from the cold storm into a street, which is the 15th.
We take the train downtown to see Ground 0. Manuel´s last time visiting NYC was in 2000, so some things have changed...and some not.
At Fulton Street (closed to Wallst.) you can have that feeling being somewhere in Europe, until you look up:
We are not sure about this surreal landscape we are walking through. This accumulation of bricks and cement with little loopholes inside gives you the feeling of being
in a very narrow gorge.

After an apointment with the art consultant and a breakfast at the Hotelroom (Trader Joe´s), Manuel and me in the Dirnd´l are going out
to shot our movie for the exhibition. We are starting at Guggenheim Museum, further to the Metropolitan, buy Dean & Deluca coffee at the upper-eastside,
feed sparrows in Central Park, stroll along the Reservoir and shoot on the Bow Bridge.
Manuel is feeding the jack sparrows
security on M.M.-stairs signs forbidden even sitting is not permitted.
We are taking the train to 23rd St. and shoot 'the hare' at the Gallery District. A Taxiride to Canalstreet, a walk through SoHo and lunch at Vanessa´s on
Eldridge St. at the lower east-side. We enjoy the space at the Gershwin Hotel Lobby and shoot some more scenes, later that day.

Today we are starting to prepair the exhibition, buy stuff, have breakfast. It is raining, so we stay inside and edit the film, which
is quite a good plan. Time is running. At 6 pm we are meeting my friend at her office to print the nyc collages, which takes longer than we thought.
At 10 pm we are ordering nice food at the Indian Restaurant on 1st Avenue. We finnish the film back at the hotel, done.

Saturday, 28th March 2009
The opening was "quite a hit", everthing worked out well and all the visitors were very satisfied with the presentation of paintings, film and music.
Manuel Klein and Adam Fisher haven't seen each other for 7 years and played together just like they did back then. Have a look at the Clip 7.
We are having brunch at the Fisher´s house in Harlem and a walk through Central Park later. Very tired back at the Gershwin for a little nap.
At 8 pm we are taking the train to the lower east side to see Grave Digger Uppers at Fontana's and say hallo to our friends. We are walking
slowly and relaxed to SoHo and dipp in to another friends home, which is big enough to fit in more than 50 people. There are more than that and
two boys are presenting their pop songs to party people and record company. After some glasses of red wine and a nice talk to some people, Manuel
and me are taking a cap home, absolutely overtired.
Hula Hoop at Central Park and the roundabout Clip, coming soon. Manuel at the corner..

I am proceeding the report, doing some phone-calls and Manuel is falling to sleep by my side. At 4 pm we are meeting Kasia to visit the Moma.
After Moma and I have to say first:" I love Martin Kippenberger again!", we are crossing the street to pray at St. Patrick’s Cathedral on Madison Avenue,
at least I am adoring the architecture and atmosphere of the building.
We are crossing the 5th Ave again to Rockefeller Center on 49th Street
(More analog photos coming soon) and we girls are checking the fashion and design
at Anthropology store and Kasia is finding some shoes for me. We are deciding to eat dinner at the lower esat side and take the F train on our way we have
Dunkin´ Donuts coffee, which is too sweet indeed! Just for rounding out our NY experience, we are also getting mini donuts at that too much sugar everywhere
store. At Barrio Chino on Broome St, between Orchard & Ludlow we are having steak and sangria. At the end we are 4 people, sitting at this little table in
and walk with mini donuts as a desert to the subway, waiting more than 20 min. for our train home.

Enjoying the last days further down over the bridge
We are having breakfast on our way, cause cafes with tables and chairs are rare in NYC. Manuel is recording with Adam Fisher at threshold studio and I am prepairing
another exhibition
at Alp Gallery in Chelsea. I met Maria-Anna Alp at the Berlin 2000 exhibition at Pace Wildenstein. She liked my work and asked me for some of it
at my Gershwin exhibition. Paul and Maria-Anna are going back to Germany and are having their last show in Chelsea on 29th Street, 7th Ave.
After hanging up three diurnal-hares and a drawing collection I am walking down to University Place, have a Bagle and meet the french gallerist Michèle.
We are printing out the collages at her SoHo gallery on Lafayette Street. She will present some of my work at the affordable Art Fair in May. Get together with Manuel after
at Astor Place to have some dumplings at Vanessas Dumpling house again and walk over the Brooklyn Bridge. (Pictures from the analog photo camera coming soon.)
Also a short film will come soon, cause Manuel is shooting at the final exhibition at Alp Gallery.
Museum of sex on my way + my fucking hares. at Alp Gallery
with ' 0128 in Chelsea Chelsea Burger at the Empire Diner , lecker!
We are going to pack all our things today. At the jewish store H&B on 34th St and 9th Ave. I am buying some hard-drive for my mac.
First I am talking to a vender to select the hardware, second I am walking with a receipt to the next vender, who orders the actual product, which comes
from the storehouse on a conveyor belt, he shows it to me quickly, sends it down to the first floor, hands me out another receipt which I show to the cashier
downstairs. After payment I get another receipt to walk over to the final vender, who hands me out the product, which is already packed. Masseltoff!
Being very hungry Manuel and me are walking down the 9th Ave to the Empire Diner on 21st St and 10th Ave. We are sitting outside!
Later that day I am buying a large overprized suitcase from a chinese store around the corner for my diurnal hares. I know that this is a stupid idea,
but I am just to lazy
to find a better place to get a better quality for less money. At our last night we are having wine with friends at the lower east side.
We ar having much fun! Thank´s guys, we´ll be back soon*. With the last Dollars on our Metro card we are taking the 6 train back to the Gershwin.

Wednesday, 1st April, 2009 , my last day as Artist in residence at Gershwin Hotel and I am leaving New York:
departure clip
What a surprise, Manuel and me can fly in the same airplane instead of beeing seperated.
Back in Europe, already 2nd April, Manuel has a 6 hours stay in Amsterdam while I am on my way to Hamburg after one hour. Arriving with Manuel´s guitar back home
around 10 am, while Manuel is buying old cheese in Holland, uitstekend! Entirely overtired we are trying to get back to European time and have a nice walk to the port.
