3rd week:


Monday, 16th March 2009

My plan for today, buy new running shoes at Jack rabbit of course. The service is great at that store, I am getting very light and comfortable shoes.
This time I try the Whole Foods Market instead of Trader Joe´s and have lunch on my way home to 27th St..
Back at my studio, the Hotel´s owner invites me for dinner tonight, so I finish my two"hunting+beeing at table" paintings.

Between Empire St. Building and Flat Iron I am having lunch at the Madison Square Park.


After placing these 2 fresh vanished oil paintings at the Lobby´s wall, I am dressing myself up. Some seconds later I see myself sitting between the Canadian owner
and her Finnish friend in a yellow cap driving down the 1st Ave. Happy 2 drinks and Dinner at Schillers Liquor Bar at Rivington. We are having mussels, shrimps, shiraz and a
lime tart, all very delicious. After this phantastic and so enjoyable dinner we are walking over to the Mercury lounge at the 1st Ave. 3 bands and all good to listen to, check these out:
Less the band and Mumford and sons.

Working on my collages and finishing my Hare No. 205 and 206. Oatmeal with berrys for lunch and more work after.
Tonight I am going for Saint Patrick´s Day with my old American friend. He knows the host for a long time, so we go.
I am meeting the german artist from the Berlin 2000 Party again and his college Jon, so I am dancing with 2 painters.

Amazing weather! I am going out, to get some French vanilla flavoured coffee, large!!

I am doing some drawings at the studio during having the 2nd coffee plus a traditional Muffin.
This day I am having visitors at the studio and Petri, the Finnish Director is telling me, how to get on the "terasse":

1st time out of the window.. .. finally... I am seeing, what´s behind.

It is GOTHAM CITY man! Back inside I am working...working.. what else.*

The weather changed dramatically, or just my sense is a little delicate today. I am going for lunch with a German friend at the lower eastside,
after creating the invitation text for the 27th. "Tai Thai" at 1st Ave and the other German friend is joining us as well.
These 2 friends are having a nice exchange about living and getting organized in NYC. A strong coffee at "The Bean", where Armin Müller Stahl likes his coffee too,
and 14th Street after. Virgin is broke, so I am getting a 10 $ dvd of Stanley Kubrick´s 2001. I am not feeling well, so I am buying a huge bottle of orange juice at TJ´s
and go straight home. After a little rest, I am meeting a friend of a friend, who I connected already on facebook, she is now on her way to the Gershwin Hotel.
At the lobby I am having a spontaneous private art show for 2 nice tourists who are very much into art. We 2 girls are having a ride to the galleries in
Chelsea during talking and becoming friends. 25th Street is busy, people still love gallery hopping, we have more fun speaking with eachother, because shows are too
packed, or just insipidly. We are walking around the blocks and stopping at a little hidden intrance, where we are slipping in:

After 8pm we are all going to the lower eastside, I am having a red wine and getting a flew, so back home, resting.

Creating invitations and sending them out. I am a lab-top-office-woman today, wrapped up in knit jacket, scarf and blanket, I am sick and still working.

I am feeling motivated today although still having a cold. It is cold outside anyway, so I am working inside the studio. Hare No. 0207 and 0208 are done.
There is not much to say today, I am just happy being prosperous with my work.com

After recovering and having a large green tea I am going to the second floor to finish my last paintings. Oil colour takes a longer time here than in Germany,
so I am taking myself away from doing more and more pictures. In the affternoon I am still inside the hotel and realy want to go out for a walk, which takes
half an hour, cause it´ s too windy for a groggy girl like me. My friend is having the idea of watching a movie around 10 pm at 23rd St in Chelsea.
"Gomorrah", directed by Matteo Garrone, based on the book by Roberto Saviano. Strong Movie!

Met Life Tower , Empire State Building , and the Flatiron building by night.



Taking the train 23rd St downtown and than back uptown..?
