Work work work, just happily working and falling ino bed around 2 am.

Tuesday, 10th March 2009

Going for a run, but is ist a little cold outside. I am taking the 6 train to 86. Street to run around the reservoir. It is just like 14 years ago,
when I lived here as an art student and nanny, but this time I am much more relaxed. ... and older? At Plaza Hotel I am taking the bus downtown,
cause I am too cold. This weather is crazy, you need an onion skin all the time and not only a t-shirt plus a running jacket.
Down the 5th Avenue I am listening to Gonzales "Take me to Broadway", like the bus is. listen to that!
Unfortunately the water is cold... so what shall I do?.. warming up until the water will run hot!
I am happy that the time for the exhibition opening is now clear:
Friday, 27th March 2009, 7-9 pm + Manuel Klein will sing + play the guitar + his friend Adam Fisher from NYC, who will play the cello. ++ I can´t wait!
listen to that too: manuelklein and adamfisher.

Working from 6 pm -1 am.

Diurnal Hare No. 0203 and a jacket.

Wednesday, 11th March 2009

After a long and warm sleep, I was afraid of getting a cold, I am going to organize my upcoming exhibition at the Lobby. Three more Diurnal Hares (Tageshasen)
are finished and already to be seen at Gershwin´s Lobby. I am happy about being more organized, so I know, where to get my material and food...
thanx again to Stefan, Trader Joe´s is the best! 20 % painting, 80 % organisation, I need to loose more german behaviour!
I am taking the 6 train, down to Canal to shop at Pearl Paint and then walking up the Broadway. I am checking out again the stores, to know, where things are, in case,
me and my man will do a little shopping. Too German.. yes I am.

How police is mobile (6 train) SoHo, Mercer St.

With two big brown (Trader Joe´s) bags I am back at Gerswin Hotel, eating the delicious cinnemon mini bagel with whipped cream cheese, it is "Der Wahnsinn!".

At 8 pm 3 Norwegian musicians are playing phantastic classical musik down at the Lobby.

I am working until 2 am, hares become much more intense after that great concert.

Thursday, 12th March 2009

No pics today, but paintings! After a long night sleeping I am doing my report during talking to Germany via skype.
I am trying also to get a beer sponsoring for the opening, ... will see.
It seems to be so nice outside, I am taking my sportwear on to run, but first I am buying wood for frames at the Home Depot
around the corner on 23rd St.. Finally I am at a real "Baumarkt"/hardware store like I am used to be at in Germany and this one is
just right! With roof panels on my left shoulder I am walking along the flat iron and I am so motivated to do more hares.
But first I am running around the Central Park cause I am already in my jogging outfit. From 86th. St. up to the very end (or beginning?...)
in Harlem back on the upper West side to the 5th Ave, Plaza Hotel and further down with little stops at traffic lights to the Gershwin Hotel.
What a great run, I feel my natural drug fabrication*. And a hot shower of cause makes me really happy, quite the thing.
The wood is mitre-cut to 45° by the nice polish janitor, so I can do more frames. ...Painting.
With my german friend Steffi, who lives in NYC for about 20 years I am walking to Chelsea. We are talking german, having fun
watching different art shows with a glas of red wine in between. Indish Curry with her boyfriend near the Hotel and a beer on the street.

Friday, 13th March 2009

Lucky day, it is Friday the 13th! Anyway, I am at the 13th floor!
I am up early and starting my work after a nice Volcano Super dark coffee like usual. It is so cold outside again, so I am wearing my
thick woolen jumper plus my down jacket inside the studio, crazy! Either light or heater, if I would use both, fuse would blow.
I am warming up down at the lobby, where I am creating new collages. Actually, I like staying at the hotel. I am wondering about myself,
why am I so homey, although I am in NYC?? The weekly subway card I did not really use, it´s not worth it (25 bucks), when you don´t move...
Painting and organizing... Around 10 pm a german friend is calling, she finshed work late and is on her way to the Gershwin now.
We didn´t see each other for about 2 years. We are opening 2 beers. We are taking the decision to see the show at
"Galapagos" in Brooklyn, although it is already 11 pm. I am saying, just pick your beer, lets go..go..go... . So green line.... and changing
at Bleeker to the F train, out at York St., done in 20 minutes. The view outside is amazing, but we are in a hurry, to see Nadia´s friend playing.
No problem at all, we are just right and first we are having a beer and a smoke (outside of cause) with the musicians. So, listen and watch...*:

No hangover, cause I had only some beers + it was german... trying Williamsburg and I know it already. I am in the same second hand shop
I have been 3 years ago. I don´t buy anything, I prefer walking around a little.

Williamsburg on the street

lower houses... less people
.
Back at the Hotel I am eating healthy food and watching tv to relax and doing some work down in the studio.
Not much today, I am tired and happy staying at home.

Sunday, 15th March 2009

Early at the studio, working. After the Diurnal Hare I am walking out the door direction Celsea.
It only takes 20 minutes from 27th St. to Chelsea, to the Meatpacking district another 7 and I am having my first starbucks pairing:
Soylatte + cake. I must say, the soymilk and also the coffee is much more delicious in Europe... I am in a extremely relaxed mood and I
wonder why. I guess spring is coming out now slowly. It could be spring fever then.
I am taking lots of pictures while walking all the way down to SoHo (South of Housten).

having a relaxed sunday afternoon

Walking back to 27th St. I see, that this city is a little island, really, everything is around the corner in Manhattan.
I am having a huge vitamin-packed salat and a hot, spicy soup after a long walk.
